The Victory Inn is the realization of a long-time dream for Tony and Tracy Humphreys.

The couple met in Wuerzburg, Germany, where they were both stationed with the U.S. Army.  During the “getting to know you” stage of their relationship, the inevitable question came up, “what do you want to do when you retire from the Army?”  Both had aspirations of opening a bed and breakfast, so the hunt began.  Tony and Tracy spent their free time combing flea markets and shops throughout Europe, searching for treasures to fill their future home.  They stayed in small, homestay hotels on their vacations, which inspired many of the little “extras” you’ll find in your Victory Inn guestrooms.

Tony retired from the Army after 23 years of service, and Tracy served for 17 years before her medical retirement.  Their 40 collective years of service mean plenty of colorful stories about places they’ve been, as well as a War Room overflowing with military memorabilia.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tony now works as a civilian contractor overseas, but looks forward to coming home to Wamego in the near future.  Tracy hails from Amery, Wisconsin, a small farming community in the west central part of the state.  She is now a full-time inn keeper and stay at home mom.  They have three children, Anthony, 22, Heather, 19, and Hal, 17.
